Business Rule

Definition:

A statement that defines or constrains some aspect of the business process.

Commentary:

Business rules and/or technical rules are the source of logic for the creation of data quality rules.

Business rules can be simple or complex. Simple movement of data from one location to another. Or, complex with relationships to one or more dependent business rules.

Business rules should be written in language meaningful to the business.
