Data that is in physical storage and accessible to those that need it.

Commentary:

The concept of motion means the logical view of data being passed between systems, whether by direct linkage using interfaces or files being passed or transported.

Examples of motion include, but are not limited to:
– ETL or ELT
– database replication
– streaming data involved in big data analytics
