Data Profiling
Definition:
The process of evaluating and grading a given source of data to determine whether it is fit-for-purpose.
Commentary:
Profiling is a methodology for determining the current state of data quality in a repository. Data profiling would include a review against all data quality dimensions to identify data anomalies and evaluate data variance.
