Source of Origin
Definition:
The genesis of data content prior to being captured electronically.
Commentary:
The source of origin refers to the source of a data element. The data value may have been created by an individual in the business process, manually captured in a document, sourced manually or captured electronically from an external provider. For example, the prospectus would be the source of origin for the instrument record in the security master database.
