Definition:

The function that supports the technical strategy, design, and execution plan for the technical infrastructure in alignment with the data strategy, design and execution to support the business objectives.

Commentary:

The technology architecture function ensures the objectives of the data management initiative can be made operational.

The function includes, but is not limited to:
– Translating business requirements into the technology architecture and systems design
– Aligning the business technology blueprint to enterprise architectural policy and guidelines
– Manage infrastructure capacity, systems design, transmission capability and analytical platforms
– Evaluate and recommend vendor solutions
